Cypress police logs, April 4 to April 10

April 4, 2013

DISTURBANCE (Subject) – 8:24pm – 5200 block of Lincoln Ave. - A male subject kept coming by the apartments looking for the caller’s mother. The subject, the mother’s ex-boyfriend, was possible under the influence and was sitting on the staircase. The caller and her mother had asked him to leave and he refused. The subject was escorted off the property.
COUNSELING – 3:28pm – 11600 block of Lakia Dr. - The caller let some friends stay in his room while he went to the store a few days prior and he noticed that some property was missing, including an old cell phone and a TV controller. All the subjects, including the caller, were intoxicated during the time of the incident. All witnesses said the crime did not occur and he was unable to prove they stole the property or if he lost it. Counseled.

April 5, 2013

LOST PROPERTY – 9:47am – 5400 block of Katella Ave. - The caller left her wallet in a basket and was unable to locate it when she returned. The caller was unsure what to do regarding her ID and credit cards since the wallet was lost. There was no activity on the credit cards since the wallet was lost. Counseled.
COUNSELING – 5:16pm – 5200 block of Olga Ave. - Regarding a dispute the caller had with the neighbor’s cleaning people the night prior – there was a problem with the cleaners using a blower and the dust and debris got onto the caller’s property. The caller stated she did not have a good relationship with her neighbors and requested the officer assist with contacting them for counseling. Ongoing neighbor dispute. Counseled.

April 6, 2013

WELFARE CHECK – 12:07pm – 6300 block of Lincoln Ave. - A male subject in a wheelchair appeared to be under the influence, sitting in front of the door and talking to himself. The caller locked the doors. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.
VANDALISM REPORT – 1:47pm – 11500 block of Onyx - The neighbor’s flag pole was damaged and flags were missing. The caller believed the suspect was the same one responsible for other recent vandalism in the area.

April 7, 2013

DISTURBANCE (Subject) – 10:05am – 6100 block of Lincoln Ave. - The caller requested contact with police regarding an argument he had with a female and her brother. The female threw a beer at him and wouldn’t give his cell phone back. The caller stated that the female was intoxicated. Ongoing problem with all parties. Counseled.
PUBLIC WORKS INFORMATION – 10:19am – 10300 block of Angela Ave. - The caller reported a gopher problem on the street. Gophers had dug holes in the grassy area between the sidewalk and the street, leaving mounds of dirt in the street. The caller was upset that the street sweeper went around them and it had not been cleaned yet. The incident was referred to Public Works.

April 8, 2013

SUSPICIOUS OCCUPIED VEHICLE – 1:51pm – 6500 block of Katella Ave. - A female was sitting in her vehicle with no pants on. The caller approached her and advised her to leave. She said she couldn’t due to her vehicle being broken. The female was arrested on drug charges and her vehicle was impounded.
PATROL CHECK – 9:42pm – 11100 block of Hope - During a patrol check, police found an old homeless encampment at the southeast corner between the business and the flood control channel. There were no signs of recent activity.

April 9, 2013

IDENTITY THEFT – 9:36am – 5200 block of Lincoln Ave. - The caller reported that an unknown suspect used the caller’s social security number to open accounts. It was determined that the caller just didn’t have credit and had been declined for credit requests recently. The caller was counseled on how to establish credit and to obtain a credit report annually to inspect for any suspicious accounts.
CITIZEN ASSIST – 2:56pm – 9800 block of Valley View - The caller’s 15-year-old daughter was planning on meeting a 28-year-old man after school. The caller tried to contact her and she took off running. Police located the daughter and reunited her with her mother. Both parties were counseled.

April 10, 2013

SUSPICIOUS PERSON – 7:32am – Orangewood/Holder - The caller’s doorbell went off and the caller saw an elderly male with a rose and a walker. The subject kept ringing the doorbell and the caller was concerned and didn’t open the door and was not expecting anyone. The subject was last seen on foot on Orangewood heading towards Knott. Police were unable to locate the subject.
INDECENT EXPOSURE – 12:08pm – 5000 block of Ball Rd. - A male was exposing himself through a hole in his pants. The caller saw him using scissors to cut his pants on purpose. Police were unable to locate the subject and no prosecution was desired.
